It has been a long and short summer all in one. Long in one small part that my website has been a long process to transfer from one host to another (the technical un-fun part of it). Short in that my summer to-do list outside of being a teacher and instructor– especially taking care of my family and extended family– has filled most of my days with valuable moments outside of saxophone-realted fun. This is not to mention some unexpected delays in getting my own saxophone back from the repair shop — blaming my own saxophone being behind in getting a tune-up, repaired pads, another trip back for a missed pad replacement, etc.
Yet, here we are! I am now going into my 14th year with the branded “Near And Far Sounds” saxophone studio (and aroud 16 years of total private saxophone instruction and 35 years of playing experience). With the new website, it feels like a new beginning of sorts. Writing here on this site, I hope, will also be a new way of keeping up with the “behind the sceens” of not only saxophone-related intrigue. I also look forward to making it a window into the musical world and beyond that inspires and fuels me on this journey.
